Producing & artistic advice
Advising musicians and musical ensembles, and working with them musically and artistically — on production, arrangement, composition, studio production, artistic decisions and more.
Two examples of larger ensembles:
- Castle in Time Orchestra — intensive work with the orchestra at its founding, on its first pieces and recordings.
- Las Piratas Piratas — musical director in 2023–2024, pushing the ensemble to new levels.
Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra
Seven years as Composer-in-Residence of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra involved not only composing but searching out and bringing new repertoire to the orchestra — works that hadn't yet had the chance to be performed by a symphony orchestra in Israel. The aim was to widen what a symphonic programme could hold: not only the hardcore-modernist canon, but room for younger composers and for women composers, and in doing so to unsettle a hegemony that has ruled the symphonic world for generations.
Some of the new repertoire brought to the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra
- Bracha Bdil — Streams
- Boaz Ben-Moshe — Remember
- Ari Ben-Shabetai — The Golden Hour
- Avi Berman — Kaddish
- Uri Brener — Symphonic Chronicles
- Rali Margalit — Water Cisterns
- Daniel Markovich — Holes Through Time
- Guy Mintus — Of Music and Meaning (Hommage à Leonard Bernstein)
- Tamar Muskal — Solar Flare (more)
- Netta Shachar — Plethora of Secret Stars
- Assaf Shatil — Open-Closed-Open
- Yitzhak Yedid — Delusions of War
- Binyamin Yusupov — Passage to a Dream
Bianca Piana
Bianca Piana is a side project of simpler, more accessible piano pieces. Composed, performed, recorded and mastered entirely alone at home, it has served both as an alternative creative outlet and as a self-taught school in MIDI recording. Eventually, the piano performances took some inspiration from this project, connecting short composed forms to live improvisation and expanded formats.
